We think that business ideas are worthless. This is a website where you can find ideas other people had. And you can submit ideas you had but probably will never execute.
Background
These days, many people would like to see themselves as entrepreneurs. Web start-ups are valued at enormous amounts and founders are being hailed as superstars. IPOs or sales of these young companies are big media events. People think that if only they had a great idea, they could join the nouveaux riches. They lurk around to see if others came up with something and hope for inspiration to strike.
We think that this is bullshit. Ideas are worth almost nothing. Everyone has tons of ideas, but few bother building a product or service. Nobody has ever made money with an idea. Good execution is what really matters.
Secondly, the though that you jump into whatever business you think will make you a ton of money is disgusting for us. The great thing about starting your own business is that you can design your own job and do something that you really like. This insight is a key reason why many of us don't follow through with our business ideas. We simply don't want to start a company that we wouldn't like to work for.
What you will find here
This site is a dumpster for business ideas. As with every other dumpster, you can keep whatever you will find here. Some things might be valueless to some but valuable to others. There might be something that appears not to work, but really just needs a little fixing. And there will probably also be things that are simply rediculous and therefore somewhat entertaining.
Have fun dumpster-diving. If you want to dump some stuff yourself, send us an email.
Submission guidelines
This is not a message board where everybody throws in their half assed content. We want quality stuff for our readers. That's why we curate the content and require you to send us your business ideas per email. Of course you will be credited for everything you contribute, unless you wish otherwise.
An idea is not enough, however. You should explain it. This explanation could be akin to some business model considerations. It could also be a little story about how you came up with you idea, why you don't want to realize it, or why you think that it failed if you have indeed tried it.
